April 27- May 1st is Iowa Testing week. It is critical for your child to be present during testing week. These results are added to your child's permanent file to mark their progress through the years and are reviewed by future schools for placement. If a child is not present for testing week, due to unforeseen circumstances, missed tests must be taken upon their return, but PRIOR to April 30th. Please do not plan any scheduled absences during this week.

The second semester Soaring Readers program begins on Jan. 12th. It runs for 8 weeks, ending on March 6th; Reading Logs due on Mar. 9th. Students who reach their Individual Reading Goal will be honored in a special chapel.

All those interested in getting information about our Kindergarten program are invited to attend the Kindergarten Preview Day with our wonderful teacher, Mr Alvarez. This overview of Kinder starts at 9:00am and will answer all your questions regarding what to expect for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is a special time where we honor those students, Grades 1 through 5, who made it to Honor Roll with a GPA of 3.5 and above for the first semester of the year. The awards will be presented --immediately following our regular chapel-- which begins at 8:55am.

Apex Fun Run will be Thursday, November 6th. Support your students as they run to raise needed funds for our school!

Students who reached their reading goal will be honored in a special chapel!

Friday, Oct. 31st is our Harvest Parade. Students may wear costumes to school but please make sure they have shoes that are suitable for running & playing during recess. Please do not have costumes that are scary, spooky, or evil such as witches/ sorcerers, vampires, or villains.

Check with your child's teacher if you're unsure if a costume is suitable.

Report cards will go home during parent teacher conferences.

Tuesday, Oct. 14th is Picture Day Make-Up for both Elementary & Preschool. If your child was absent or you would like to have a picture retake, please contact the front office.

You don't want to miss Thursday, September 25th, for this year's annual Scholastic Nook Fair Family Night. We'll have raffles to participate in as we giveaway some fun prizes including Free Dress Passes!

Have dinner with us BEFORE the Book Fair opens with a food truck.

Gather around the flag pole on Wednesday, September 24th at 7:30 am to pray for our country, nation, state, and city.

Lunch with Grandparents:

All grandparents are invited to bring a lunch & eat with their grandchild on Wednesday, September 24th.

Kinder - 2nd Grades: Eat @ 11:30-12:00 - - > Recess @ 12:00-12:30

3rd - 5th Grades: Eat @ 12:00-12:30 - - > Recess @ 12:30-1:00

Classes will come through to make Wishlists which will be available as a guide for shopping. Family Night is on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 5:30-7pm. We need volunteers to make the week a grand success. Keep eyes open for our Sign-up Genius link. Online Purchases will still benefit our school up to Sept. 26.

Registration for the 2025-26 school year for new families begins on Feb. 11th. The registration link will be available under the “Admissions” tab.
